His family was poor, and the happiest time of his childhood was spent living on a farm in Missouri. His affection for small-town life is reflected in Disneyland Main Streets around the world. With black-and-white illustrations throughout, this biography reveals the man behind the magic.

ReplyDeleteThis book is a great example of a informational text. From the blog I learned that it reflects his small town upbringing and the magic associated with Disney.
Students could use this book for tons of activities, but one that I have in my mind is a talking wax museum. So every student in the class is in charge of learning about a historical figure and becoming that historical figure for the project. This book would be a good one to use for this type of activity. Students will be able to learn about the life and master the character who created Disney.
Another activity that would be good in a whole classroom setting would be a time line of his life. Working together as a class to create a timeline of the life of Walt Disney.
