Biograph: I am Neil Armstrong

The Book tells a story from Neil Armstrong's childhood on a farm to his career as an engineer and pilot, and how he became the first person to walk on the moon.

An activity you could do with your students is a timeline of their own life.

  1. I agree the book falls into the category of a biography or historical nonfiction. This book shows good quality for a nonfiction or biography book because it is accurate, readable, and the images match the illustrations. The images at the end of the story that are real life images even match parts of the story which help to mold the accuracy of the text. I feel your post is missing some items and I would have liked to see your reflection of the book or what else this author had completed. An activity that could be done is a biography brochure. Students could use this story as well as other informative texts on Armstrong to fill out important details of his life to present to their group or class. Another activity that could be completed in the classroom is a comparison using this book and others on another man or women that worked for NASA and have students identify how they are similar or different.
